My Problem: I've tried the whole tutorial several times, even starting all over after restoring my iphone i've read everything i can for the past 6 hours but i can't figure out why Anysim1.1 does not show on my iPhone i followed every step and put Anysim1.1 in the folders it said to but after i restart my phone (step 5.6) I don't see Anysim application on my iphone screen? i even tried just continuing through step 6 (Activating) result = my iPhone is still NOT activated AND my iPhone is still NOT Unlocked because i can't get Anysim1.1 to appear in my applications Does anyone know what i coud possiblly be doing wrong? My iPhone: Virgin (never been unlocked) out of the box Firmware Version 1.1.1 (i downgraded to 1.0.2 firmware but never did ANYTHING to the baseband, i upgraded back to firmware 1.1.1 for this tutorial) help would be GREATLY appreciated Last edited by husseinezz; 10-24-2007 at 10:59 AM. |

I was finally able to restore the iPhone screwed by anySim 1.1 . This is what I did
PART 1 - Screw up the iPhone 1. Followed guide to the word atleast till anySim 1.1.1 unlock - reported success. 2. Maybe screwed up activation (but still cant figure out how), getting same issue as Nerdy 3. Tried anySim 1.1 - it failed immediately (found IMEI ICCID and Modem Firmware missing in Settings->General->About) 4. Tried a restore to 1.1 through DFU mode - BRICK!!! <Spent lot of time researching and praying> PART 2 - Fix it!! 1. Downgraded to 1.0.2 with help of iBrickr - Itunes gave 1011 error 2. Returned to Jail with winInstaller 3. Restored again with iTunes (with no sim in tray) and it restored fine 4. jailbroke and activated. 1.0.2 doesnt have ICCID no but everything else is fine 5. Updated to 1.1.1 with iTunes (AT&T sim in tray) - No issues 6. Jailbroke and activated with this guide. <Sleeping on it> PART 3 - To Do! 1. Run anySim 1.1 unlock 2. Activate 3. Make a damn phone call!!!! I started of with a 1.1.1 iPhone that had been downgraded to 1.0.2 and jailbroken and activated (never unlocked). At all time when Modem Firmware was being displayed, the number was 4.0 Hope this helps someone. |

I used the REALLY ULITMATE and the ULTIMATE guides and unlocked 2 brand new fresh out of the box iPhones last night. One was a 1.1.1 and the jailbreak/unlock/activate process went flawless.
AWESOME GUIDES! THANKS!! Quote:
The second iPhone though turned out to be a 1.0.2. I updated the firmware to 1.1.1 and followed the guide and got stuck on the touchFree Step2. I almost began to panic when I realised that I hadn't checked if the phone was recognised by iTunes again after the upgrade. I tried iTunes and indeed it would not recognise the iPhone. I rebooted the computer and iPhone and upgraded the firmware again. This time after the update I checked that the phone was being recognised and then killed only the iPodService.exe and iTunesHelper.exe from the task manager and left the other apple services running. Then I fired up touchfree and everything went smooth as butter!! Lesson: Make SURE that the iPhone is recognised by iTunes right before using touchFree. Hope that works for you too, afk |

I click on anySIM and it HANGS! Meaning, I CANNOT "slide to unlock" and after about 30 seconds it just shuts down and brings me back to the Springboard. http://*****************************...irginizingTool FWIW I revirginised my 1.0.2 unlocked phone via http://code-----google----com/p/ipho...irginizingTool and then I REFLASHED the firmware with 1.1.1 so my iPhone was completely factory fresh and not just upgraded (i.e. with same wall papers, etc.). Can anyone offer any advice? PLEASE! (from a member that has donated several times to the devteam) Last edited by rhydewithdis; 10-24-2007 at 03:39 PM. I forgot to tell...
My iPhone was originally with 1.1.1., then downgraded, unlocked and activated with iUnlock under 1.0.2, then VIRGINIZED, upgraded to 1.1.1., and unlocked with JuanPa's guide, using win xp sp2 So, if concerned about upgrading/unlocking with this guide, do not hesitate and go ahead, you coward !! I miss my custom ringtones (coldplay - yellow is great as a ringtone!!). Hope the community soon can develop an easy solution as ibrickr. Greetings from MX
