I have read alot on the forum but still have a few NOOB questions.

I'm in Canada and want to unlock my phone to run it on FIDO
BUT: I'd like to have all the new bells and baubles of the 1.1.1 upgrade

So
just got new 8gb iphone OOB

1.independence says my firmware is 1.0 (which version is that?)

2. Should I unlock with 1.0 firmware or upgrade to 1.1.1 then unlock etc?

3.also a tutorial says that at some point I need to have a wi-fi connection
to complete this entire process ( is there no way to do this without wireless?)

4. I am still running an old version of itunes 7.3...

answers to these and many other questions before I start to monkey arround
would be great.
