I've been doing a lot of reading and tried to find answers on my own but am a little confused.

I had a (out of the box) 1.0.2 phone that I activated without AT&T sim (using Independence v1.2.4) and unlocked using AnySim 1.1 method.

But now I have a good reason for wanting to upgrade to 1.1.1 because of International Keyboard feature.

So my question is
a) can I upgrade to 1.1.1 ?

b) what method can I use [and what to skip (if any) since I used Anysim 1.1 to unlock] ?


There seems to be adequate guides for downgrading but not for upgrading.

Please advise.

PS: I don't need to virginize the baseband, right ? since I never upgraded to 1.1.1 before.

AnySim 1.1 is basband safe, right ?

A) Yes u can upgrade

B) before u update youir firmware you might want to prepare for jailbreak(via symlink method). please real tutorials on how to activate and jailbreak 1.1.1 then run anysim1.1 again when u r done to unlock... cos previous anysim1.1 unlock will be removed when upgraded

Hi! i need to know how to define the wifi network? when i select otheres in the phone it asks me for the name of the network! and when i write in the name and press JOIN, it gives me an error" could not find network" ! is there anyother way around to go thru the wifi selection? do i hve to select the particular wifi network on which im gonna use my phone? as i hve the sim inside the phone right now! but it doesnt even select the network by itslef as well! so please help me for wayaround!

does the new anysim work with windows?

Will setting Auto-Lock to Never on 1.02 survive after you upgrade to 1.1.1? I might have forgotten to do this and that's probably why I can't activate after upgrading (ssh hangs and rm mv commands are not recognized).

hi, I got my iPhone about 1 month ago. Its firmware is 1.0.2 and I never unlock it. so I need to upgrade the firmware to fw1.1.1 and do jailbreak then unlock it using the anysim v1.1? please help!!!

but it fails at the end when i run anySim

and when i do the restore of it

it says network connection refused

do i need to have At&t simcard in this all proccess?
