I have used this on my Sigmatel 9200. In the preference pane it shows the sound device, but it doesn't have any output in any jacks.
With the 1.15 it doesn't show anything. 1.14 and earlier does the same thing as 1.16. I have 10.4.9 with the semthex 8.8.1 kernel. I would really like to get sound working. The codec is a dump of my system from an Ubuntu Live CD. Could you maybe give the procedure to dump from Linux to make sure I did it correctly? I am not very Linux savvy, but found the command to produce the text in a console window and I copied & pasted into a text editor and save it to my FAT32 partition as Sigmatel9200.txt and used that as my codec to use with HDApatcher. Thanks for your hard work on these things. Jon |

Hi all,
I've tried Taruga's solution for HDA pathing under 10.4.9. unfortunately I didn't succeed. Here's what I did: clean install of 10.4.7. Upgrade to 10.4.9. Delete AppleAzalia.kext Put up Apple HDA patcher 1.16 with ALC882 linux dump. When I try kextloading AppleHDA.kext, I get this error: Quote:

Here is my OS/kernel info: Quote:
For the moment I reverted back to an AppleAzalia solution, since at least I have iTunes working. Main problem with it is that there is no input (Mic, LineIn) and also while watching movies, somehow the pitch of the sound goes up. Tried setting playback freq (44.1K, 48K, 96K, 192K), but didn't worked. Any other solution should I try? Eventually could somebody who has a similar mobo/OSX combination like mine, post a working HDA kext?

your file permissions are not set as it looks like... did u try to fix permissions?
diskutility repair permissions?? and than reboot if it still gives the same error than u have to set the permissions manually... sudo su password chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/xxxxx.kext (xxx name of the kext) chmmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/xxxxx.kext (xxx name of the kext) cd /System/Library/ rm -R Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache reboot exit should fix.. |
