Hi Guys,
This is my first time trying to get a PC to run OS-X, and I have a lot of questions. First will a Netbook work? I really like the small size. Are there any Netbooks that work better, or any to stay away from? Also, how stable will it be? And, last, will Wi-Fi, card readers, USB, and Firewire work? Thanks, Borntodubb |

I was tempted by the aesthetics of the EEE 1005, but so far, no luck on the hackintosh front. |

what lachesis and amacx68 said. msi wind and spring for the 279 or 4xx model with b/g/n wifi. easy upgrade ram and swap out hdd. there are two forum/support groups out there at least windosx86 and msiwindnet i think they are. get the msiwindosx86.iso and follow steps in forums. mine is 10.5.7 and works BETTER in OS X than XP!! its like a macnetbook air.
it even available in pink if you are brave enough (get a little white apple sticker)

I can tell you personally that the Dell Mini 9 works flawlessly with 10.5.7. I have been running mine as a hack since day two (waited for my parts to come in and wanted to test Linux
). I have read that the Dell Mini 10v also works completely but has a lower screen res making certain selections difficult to make at times.

So I'll let you all know how the install goes. I gave up on the EEE and sold it, and have ordered an MSI Wind.
The following netbooks are mentioned specifically on the iDeneb 1.4 boot CD as having install profiles already set up: Acer Aspire One A150 (like it quite a bit, but you have to practically disassemble it to upgrade the RAM, and that voids the warranty) Samsung NC10 (really liked the looks of this, but couldn't find one in stock for sale that wasn't pink) MSI Wind U90/100 (seems to be the most popular for this purpose...) Regarding the Dell: Two drawbacks...(1) The memory isn't upgradable, so you're stuck with 1gb of RAM; with modern operating systems going from 1 to 2 makes quite an improvement in performance. (2) You have to watch what video card you get; some have the GMA 945/950 which work fine...others (the Mini 10) have the GMA 500 which won't provide acceleration. |

I have already been thinking about checking OSX86 on a netbook. I have a Dell Mini at the moment but I have become a fan of the MSI Wind U100 netbook after I'd done some research. It seems to be the best pick, especially if you want to run OS-X on it. Since I trust your recommendations and opinions, I think it the Wind will be my next netbook.

Wrong. All of the Minis have the ability to upgrade the ram, except the Mini 10, which has the GMA500 graphics. Mini 9 and Mini 10v are upgradeable and have GMA950. |
