Question System Issues

Hey everyone - I just wanted to say thanks for all the previous help that has been given to me via everyones posts. I must say this page is a great colaborative effort to save some cash on a hackintosh!

So here is my question, I built my wife a Mac, here are the specs:

Core 2 Quad CPU (2.8GHz)
2GB x 4 RAM
P5k-VM mobo
PNY 8800GT 512 Video.

I am having some issues with sound and video. She does alot of photoshop work and the system runs GREAT.. All day long nice and stable with no issues. BUT if she tries to load a relativly intense (diablo 3 or some other stupid games) the screen goes blank.. I can hear the game running but she looses video. If she tries to change the screen res, the screen goes blue..
Any idea on better/more capable video drivers?

ALSO - The onboard sound works but is constantly breaking up - almost like the audio jack has a bad connection.. Crackles and pops... Any idea?

Thanks again for your time everyone - I know the forum gets a lot of questions like this and I did search but didnt feel anything was directly related to the issues I was having. Thanks.

Also - would flashing the video card help? I have been reading a lot of threads about EFI firmware for the cards - but I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer.

Download EFI Studio

This will work in EFI String for VIDEO , Network, Audio
use Latest EFI Studio ,Select Devices and Click Wrtie to com.apple.boot.plist will add Automatically for you. Now you can even install EFI on destination Drive by this

ugh - I followed the instructions, restarted and the system now only boots to a blue screen... I tried the -v option at boot but no go. I know its at a logon screen because if I type my password and hit enter it logs on. (I dont get any video - I just hear it in the back ground...) HELP!!!
