This is what you need:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Iphone-...QQcmdZViewItem Keep in mind you still need to de-solder your mic and speaker from your old cable and re-solder it on to the new one. Believe me, it's a Bi!@# to replace the cable, never mind resoldering the mic and speaker without burning the new cable. Good luck, you'll need it. It may be better for you to part out your phone on eBay and then buy a new one. Helps keep away grey hairs..

Hm I don't really feel like soldering.
Also I don't know how to take it apart that far. edit: I found an iPhone on ebay with a defective "Com-Board". Where is that on an iPhone? is it possible to replace it? edit2: found this http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPhone/C...ications-Board So it should easily be replacable as i have that part in the 3rd pic. Replaceing the comm board is much easier than replacing the data cable. Comm boards are hard to come by though, and aren't cheap. Average price is $75-$100. Plus, the phone with a faulty comm board may turn out to have more problems than just the comm board. Seriously, save yourself the headache and buy a fully functioning phone. You'll be happier in the end for it.

Why was this moved to Flea Market?

But it all depends on how much I'd have to pay, I might just buy a working one. Thanks for your help. Last edited by Andi; 07-21-2008 at 09:12 AM. |

Because the topic is about replacing/buying another flat cable.
Sell and buy requests/offers are not tolerated outside the Flea Market section.

It is about how I can repair the phone. I posted a new topic in the Flea Market yesterday, and it wasnt about the flat cable. |

Since this thread will apparently stay here and the thread I originally made in Flea Market doesn't get posted:
I am actually looking for broken iPhones (for parts). Tell me what's wrong with it and we'll talk about the price. Quote:
