Default iPhone shows as charging, battery doesnt fill up.

I've just had a battery replaced on my iphone 2g, and it won't charge.

It shows that it's charging, but when I take the charger away, the battery remains down on a thin red stripe.

If I put a big rechargeable battery pack in the bottom, I can carry on using the phone for now, but it's not a real solution.

Is this likely to be the logic board ? (I've got a spare logic board I could try it with, but really dont want to go down that route unless I really have to)

I'm running version 3.0 jailbroken, if I go back to 2.2 could that fix it ?

Anyone got any suggestions before I start flailing around in the dark ?

Thanks guys.
