Default iPhone 3G Mainboard, Unusual Problem....

I have an iphone 3g and a little chip broke off the mainboard whcih means the phone doesnt want to restore or anything!!! Apparently the piece that broke off controls the read/write ability of the phone...

Can anyone do anything with this part now?? I personally think its completely gone...

I think I have the same problem as you. Can you take a picture of the piece you are talking about? The part I broke off was this little metal prong that is located on the bottom corner of the do not remove sticker which is a screw hole.

Hit me back because I want to know if you have the same prob.

thats where the little chip fell off for me...sounds a bit different to your problem.
I just sold it on ebay as broken, managed to get 150 for it!

Yea my problem is that little piece right below the do not remove sticker. It was a metal connector that touched the chrome bezel or something near it that controls something. I'm not sure if it controls the vibrate motor or whatever but I'm trying to get a replacement for it and I can't find it anywhere.

May be there is bug in your firmware. You did not give a clear concept about your phone . Is it jailbreaking?
