Question iPhone 3G No Signal after replacing battery.

My iPhone was running out of charge after only 4-5 hrs on standby so I decided to replace it.
I stupidly tried to split the phone betweeb the Bezel and the Hard Plastic Case. (Same as the 2G, I think).
I eventually realized the problem and opened from the front (Screen/Bezel) and replaced the battery. Ever since I have been getting "No Service" except for when I have the phone within 10 yrds of an antenna.
The only thing I can think of is that the little connectors on the Bezel where a little bent out of place, and the Logic Board was (ever so slightly) bent where the "Do Not Remove" sticker was.
What would be most likely to need replacing?
The Bezel/Case, The antenna strip on the speaker/sync plug plastics, The Aeriel at the top or the Logic Board?

Any ideas and/or links would be appreciated as I am currently stuck with using an LG viewty *shudder* and miss my iPhone.

Thanks in advance, Barry (The D.I.Y NooB) Grimes.

Do you get wifi signal? I would start by taking it apart and making sure everything is seated properly. If the board is not seated properly you have problems. Them antenna is on the dock connector but first reassemble and see if that does not do the trick take your time and dont Rambo the parts. If you need help PM me I own an iphone repair company.

I too replaced the battery on mine and afterwards no carrier signal. Everything else worked. It's definitely a hardware issue, I'll try to trace the antenna board. Anybody with a fix would be greatly appreciated.

I have this EXACT same problem! Replaced the battery and opened the phone at the wrong seam.

I thought that maybe it had something to do with the antenna etc but now I can see that it is something to do with the logic board portion by the "do not remove" screw.

Under that little "wing" of logic board there is a a little metal pin the pokes up from the antenna under the base connector to make contact with the logic board. By first theory was that the logic board was a bit bent up so there was no contact. After playing a bit and still getting no signal, I am pretty sure that where we bent the logic board by prying in the wrong seam, we broke the antenna connector inside that little wing.

What I believe will need to be done will be to have someone good at soldering, solder a jumper between the metal contact for the antenna at the bottom side of the logic board across to the other side of the "bend" in the logic board.

I will be doing more experimenting and get back about this, meanwhile if anyone else has a solution, PLEASE SHARE!!

I have this problem too. It's definitely a hardware. By doing experiment I damaged my iPHONE. There is no Wi-fi , no network signal totally dead. Now I am going to take this to a specialist.
