Question Re-assembled iPhone 3G not responding (but turns on!)

Hi,

With the help of some posts here on hackint0sh, I pulled apart my iPhone 3G to replace my broken glass/digitizer, but when I got it back together, the screen wouldn't turn on and it won't respond to touch commands (for example, I pressed the home button and ran my finger along the bottom of the screen - no response). The thing is, it beeps when I plug it into a charger, iTunes recognizes it when I plug in USB, and it vibrates when I move the silencer switch. Strangely, it also rings when I get a text message, but not when I receive a phone call (on the other end, it rings a few times then goes to voice mail).

I think I exerted a little too much force on my LCD when I was disassembling it, so that might be part of the problem, but the only visibly affected areas are on the bottom - I expect the rest would still work or at least pass some light through.

Any help would be appreciated!

Sounds like something is wrong with the LCD connection, make sure its fully connected to the motherboard.

You also may have a faulty LCD.

Default I did it!!!

I had the same exact problem after taking out the LCD display to get rid of the dust. After reassembling it, it didn't respond to my sweep on like what you exactly said.
I was half crying, but got myself together and took apart the LCD again and tightened all the screws around the LCD panel and make sured all the flex cable were connected. Remember, The LCD's touch screen works by the degitalizer between it, so press down the LCD screen onto the degitalizer firmly.

1) MAKE SURE ALL THE SCREWS ARE TIGHT.

2) MAKE SURE ALL THE CABLES ARE SEATED PROPERLY.

contact me at kai199191ebay@gmail.com if you have any questions.

GOOD LUCK!!!
