Basically thats my problem.
Here are my specs.
2g Iphone 8gb, Jailbroken/unlocked.
Just replaced the screen (which works) and replaced battery, but problem still remains:
The phone will not turn on through battery power source, BUT if I plug the phone into my Klipsch sound port it Will load up to the emergency only screen.
We tried several other batteries and still wouldnt turn on. I tried rebooting, putting it in all the modes...master resets...yadda.... nothing works.
any advice as to what may be the problem?

Slight update:
I was able to get it in recovery mode with the Steve Job character saying Hello in Russian.
Trying to do a restore right now. Any reason why it wont boot by battery though?
I understand having to reset the whole thing since I replaced screen and all but not work on battery?

there is a small diode near the battery terminals change that and all will be fine ... i repaired 2 phones

a pic of the diode would be really appreciated . i have a 3g and it had the same problem i made a short i have attached a pic. i cant get the iphone to charge seems like no power is going the the iphone .when i plug in the usb cord nothing happens .any help ???

the iphone works fine but the usb does not work im preety sure the power to the usb chip is not going through
