Sold my brother a 2G iphone. He called me today and had dropped it. He said that the LSD is fine. The crack is on the glass above the viewable part. Will this product be the right product to fix a broken glass? Are the glass and the screen 1 part? Is there a place o get official replacement parts for the phone?

Just a few questions that I have as I laugh at him for breaking his in 1 month when I have had mine for over a year.

After talking to him it sounds like it is just the glass. I just don't know where to start.

On a scale 1 to 10 for difficulty to replace just the glass: 12
I promise you will wish you never attempted to fix the glass if you try. The glass, digitizer and LCD are fused together and VERY difficult to separate without causing damage to good parts.
You will end up with a phone in much worse shape. It is much easier to replace the entire display assembly, which is very expensive. I'd live with the broken glass, since it doesn't look that bad. Or I'd sell it on eBay and buy a new one.

Thanks for the reply. I was telly my brother the same thing after reading through some of the post on the subject. It is his baby and his project now. I am just the information gatherer.

I feel sorry for the guy. I treat my phone like shit and his breaks.
