Well Lets start this story. i charged my phone for 24 hours and came back and my iphone was stuck on the charging screen 1% red battery and i was thinking to myself didnt i charge this last night soo i was very worry and serch on the forum and someone told me to let the battery to die out and now it wont even charge it just keep showing me the charging 1% red battery screen . soo i thought to myself ok i'll just restore with 7.5 itune soo while trying to restore[ hold power and home button ] becasue my itune cant find my iphone soo i had to the do that . soo i got a pop to restore i press shirft+click to restore it back to 1.1.2 or 1.1.1. while it restore my iphone it shows the logo of the apple screen and the please wait sign after that it just shut down and my itune gives me an error [1604]. and yes i serched 1604 and tryed eveything another usb cable , another computer , reinstall , anything that u can think of i did it all. and now i cant restore its still stuck on the charging screen but i charged for like 2 days already and still 1% battery . soo now i need your helpXD i love the forum becasue it helps alot of people . soo if i cant get any help i guess i'll just try to sell it on ebay . but i hope i dont have too becasue i love my iphone. and btw its a 1.1.2 otb . thanks o yea im running with window

you need to use iphuc, ibrickr, or independence to boot the phone, after the error pops up

cant use ibrickr becasue it cannot find my iphone. and after the error it just kicks the phone outta the itune

when you restore make sure you are in recovery mode

I have exactly the same problem, i tried everything that was recommended on this forum, and on others, including apple. Nothing works. My iPhone gets out of DFU mode into recovery mode with iTunes, and then it doesn't boot up. It gives me a 1604 probably beacuse it doesn't have power to boot. This is probably a dead battery. I have been working on this for two very long days now, and nothing helps. Have you tried to change the battery?

P.S. This is the image i get when i connect it to the dock:



The whole screen is black except for this icon in the middle. Also it turns off when i unplug it from the charger. Is this the one you have???

P.P.S I have no possibility to go to the apple store, so please give me some reccomendations for the battery.

Thats definately the dead battery icon. Have you tried connecting ur iphone to the wall socket rather than to ur computer?

I only get that icon when my phone runs down to 2% battery life and it turns itself off, That icon comes up when I plug it in and it stays that way for a while till it gets enough power and turns itself on.
