I have a jailbroken iPhone 2G with OS 3.0; I have two video cables I've tried: a brand new myvu Made for iPod/Works with iPhone connection cable and some composite video, stereo audio, and usb cable I got from ebay. Both cables cause the iPhone to react the same.

FWIW, with the original iapd file, I get the "accessory not made for iphone" error. I get no video out of the dock connector, but I do get audio. This all happens regardless of my airplane mode setting.

With Shahjahan's 3G 3.0 iapd file, I get no warnings, but I also do not video out of the dock connector; I do get audio.

I tried screensplitr, tvout, and the iPod app.

No. I have a 3G phone with 3.0 firmware. No "accessory not made..." warning, but video pauses every 20 secs and I have to hit play again.

I used shahjahan's iapd file on my 3Gs and worked great. the video stoped after about fifteen minutes and I had to start it again but I think that is unrelated. I also noticed that when I pressed the lock button during playback and the video stoped. When i unlocked the phone the "not made for iphone error" showed up but I unpluged it and re pluged it in and it worked. All and all I am able to get my iphone 3Gs to send video to my tv with my $5 ebay video cable and shahjahan's iapd file THANKS!!!!!!

Correct me if I am wroing but I believe that everyone who poasts that this doesn't work has a 3G or older not 3Gs and I think someone said this will not work for the non s 3G. You need a different iapd file (I have seen them on other forums for the 3G)

What is not absolutely clear to me is:

Does shahjahan's patch work for self-made AV-Cables aswell or do we need one of these cables, wich are not made by apple, BUT WHICH ARE WITH a 3rd party auth chip...?""?

I modified a BMW Snap In adapter for iphone 3g(s) by adding the wires for video and stereo audio from dension icelink+, and expected video out to work with the shahjahan patch and without any auth. Chip.

But it does not work for my 3.0 3gs iphone.

After modifying the SnapIn adapter I am getting the message, that "this accessory is not made to work with iphone" and after installing the patch to the iphone, this messige disappered but there is no video output, regardless waht I do.

Default 2g running 3.0 IAPD patch?

Hi

I've been following this thread for some time now, and I must say I'm impressed by the collective knowledge here!

My question is this: Is there any update on the patch for an iPhone 2g running 3.0 to enable the use of third party (read cheap) AV-cables? I have tried all the solutions listed here (I think) and still get either "accessory not made for...", or audio but no video.

If I was more intelligent I'd try to help with finding the solution, but unfortunately my parents dropped me on my head when I was still very young

Regards
Glynn

I am also interested in a working solution for the iphone 2g running os 3.0

If shahjahan can describe what he did to make the files he posted, or if someone else can describe it, I'd be willing to take a crack at it.

Can anyone please point me to the correct iapd for the 3G (not 3Gs)?
