I don't get it, because they are still advertising their product to work with iPhone 2.0/2.2, but not 2.1. I wonder if they know what these numbers mean...
@ slm4996 Have you received your cable already and can give us some insights? foton |

Hi to all
As you can see, I`m new in this forum. I have a jailbroken iphone 2g, 2.2. I've got this cable, and it works for a few seconds, and later says "this accesory..." (everybody here know this message) Looking in google, I found this forum. Anyone can explain me how can run a pached iapd? Before read the complete forum, I don't understand it. I think I must have a file (iapd.bspatch) but i can't find it. Thaks to all! Last edited by crispijm; 12-09-2008 at 06:03 PM. |

I have the same problem with a 3rd party cable on my iphone 2g with fw 2.1 jb. I read that on 2.2fw the cable works(??) so can I upgrade to solve the problem? Is there a patch to work on 2.1? I'm confused!!! Could somebody help me? |

Has any one got a 3rd party cable working with jailbroken 2.2 fireware? It would be a great christmas present for everyone here if someone makes an easy downloadable crack for this problem. I think none of us wants to pay apples prices for their cables... Thanks and Good luck

I found this cable on ebay
http://cgi.ebay.com/ORIGINAL-APPLE-i...01126007r29185 and the seller says it works with 2.2 People who bought it gave a positive feedback. 26$ are not 8.80$ though... Has anyone tried it yet? foton |

I surfed around some more and found this article. One passage is about fake video cables and a possible solution.
http://arstechnica.com/journals/appl...t-capabilities I don't have the skills to work with it, but maybe one of you. Good luck, foton |

Going back to the cable hacking thing, similar to Ridax I was able to log some data during the handshake. It is at http://360.yahoo.com/shabaz_yousaf in case anyone can figure out something from this.
I am interested in getting video out while still being able to control the ipod via the serial lines, so I'm currently investigating what happens if we 'splice' a connection into the serial lines (i.e. act like a 'man in the middle') between the ipod and the authentication chip. This way, it may be possible to allow the authentication chip to do its thing, while still being able to transmit commands ourselves into the ipod. |

Well it was possible to get a microcontroller to do this,
but the ipod sends a request to the authentication chip each time a video is played. So the microcontroller is now programmed to always keep the path connected between the ipod and the authentication chip, unless we desire to send a command to the ipod. |
