I've done something wrong, I think.
First off let me say I don't use iTunes at all. All my app management and such is done externally. What I DO use itunes for is to create the iTunesCDB file so I can manage music in Winamp. Today I did the really stupid thing of deleting the following via SSH: user/media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/iTunesDB user/media/iTunes_Control/iTunes/iTunesCDB user/media/iTunes_Control/Music Only these three things. By user/media/iTunes_Control/Music, I mean I just deleted the entire folder (F00-Fxx) and just created a new one without any Fxx files. Since this very dumb thing, iTunes will not even recognize my iPhone. Winamp finds it fine and I can transfer songs perfectly. Windows picks up the iPhone when I plug it in. iTunes doesn't do anything. I'm pretty open to any suggestions at this point. I'd really like to start putting songs on the iPhone again. Thanks for any help guys, Best. |

Hey there,
Yeah, after deleting the folders/files I restarted the iPhone. Restarted the computer. Reinstalled iTunes. Used a backed up copy of the iTunesDB I had. Nothing. iTunes will not detect this iPhone for the life of it. I've deleted iTunesCDB/iTunesDB before and iTunes simply rebuilds these missing files when I relaunch. I think it's the deletion of the entire Music folder containing all the Fxx volumes which is causing the problem, but I'm not entirely sure. Kinda sucks. |
