New hack that sends data through the headphone jack to external peripherals, USB or PIC controllers has been developed. This technique doesn't require a jail-broken phone and uses only published development APIs. The toolkit is targeted at tinkerers and hobbyists with both software and hardware knowledge. The hope is to allow developers to integrate with third party hardware in ways that aren't currently possible on a non jail-broken phone. Would love feedback or unique ideas in which this toolkit could be used.
