Question [HELP] Iphone 3G 16GB won't sync or connect in itunes 8.2

i used to have a iphone 3g 8GB and it worked prefectly fine in the same computer im currently using.

WHAT OS AND ITUNES?
I am using Window XP 64 BIT Professional.
and ITUNES 8.2

YES.. i know there isn't a VALID installer from apple for window xp 64 bit but there is one for window xp/vista 32 bit and window vista 64 bit. for godsakes i don't know why there isn't one for window xp 64 bit?!

anyways i followed a guide that unlocks the 64 bit xp version but can't burn dvd .. but it did connect iphones etc.

PROBLEM
After i got this new iphone 3G 16GB recently.. i plug in my cable to the computer.. it charges and shows the battery screen and then i get something on my window that said
"APPLE CAMERA CONNECTED" choose which to open or cancel?

but when i open itunes it doesn't find my iphone..
does anyone know why?! i need help on finding out why it doesn't show my iphone on itunes.. anyone had this problem? please help.

I know its not the phone problem because i let my brother try it on his window xp 32 bit laptop and it works PERFECTLY..

i plug my ipod 30GB 5th generation and it works perfectly fine on itunes..

but somehow .. when i plug my iphone 3G 16GB to my computer.. it shows its connected but somehow itunes don't pick it up!

WHAT I TRIED:
i tried unistalling, and reinstalling.
I tried the help page from apple support
NOTHING WORKS SO FAR.

please help if you can. has anyone had this problem? thanks.
is it because i need to do something to earse the iphone 3G 8GB? (my previous phone) or what? O_O

nvm someone in mymodmi.com

helped me admin or mod can cloes this thread.

but if anyone does need this help.

Your computer recognises the iphone as a camera device.Try this:

*Right-click "My Computer" & select Manage
*Select Device Manager
*In the right-hand pane, expand Imaging Devices&select the iPhone (camera)
*Right-click the iPhone camera & select Properties
*Click the Driver tab
*Click "Update Driver..."
*When asked if you should connect to the internet, select No,not this time
*Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)
*Check "Include this location in the search" and point it to:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_4351B7DAFF62F D33510D77DFAE3CF8CC82517571
*Click Next
*The driver should install and now when you open iTunes you will see your iPhone.

you can use this for future references.

Hi,

I was just wondering if you could let me know how u installed ur version of iTunes on XP 64 bit. I have tried several in the past and they didnt seem to work. The problem I had last time is quicktime didn't install properly and itunes wouldnt run without quicktime. If you could let me know it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

Default Three of us had this problem

Three of us had this problem in the office this morning.

One fixed using post number 2.

I plugged my phone in again to try it but it was already working again - I had connected to a Mac with iTunes 8.2 installed (to see if the update was available ) seems to have done the trick too (if you have access to one, this seems immeasurably simpler!)

In summary, if you have access to a Mac, run the iTunes update and then connect the phone/pod (they don't automatically sync anything, don't worry). Otherwise go through post number 2.

Thanks for the fixes guys,

Joe
