Default Necessary to save ECID SHSH for 3GS 7D11 MC model?

I am wondering is it necessary to save ECID SHSH for 3GS 7D11 MC model?

I have been reading methods to retrieve the ECID SHSH via restoring the phone to 3.0, so I am thinking do I need to restore my phone to FW 3.0?

Or the process of retrieving ECID SHSH is only applicable for older model of the 3GS?

Please advice.

TIA.

Anyone who wants to keep the ability to jailbreak their iPhones into the future should save your ECID SHSH for 3.1.x

The reason for this is simple. When Apple releases OS 3.2, they will block the hole that is currently used by blackra1n to jailbreak directly from a factory 3.1.x 3GS. They will also stop signing requests to load 3.1.x on 3GS iPhones.

The combination of these two things will mean that people who accidentally restore to OS 3.2 will lose jailbreak and can't go back to 3.1.x (to jailbreak via blacksn0w)

If you have a ECID SHSH for 3.1.x or 3.0.x then you can still restore back to one of these versions, jailbreak and then restore using a custom ipsw via pwnagetool to 3.2. this keeps your jailbreak.

This scenario already happened for a while with 3.1.x where users who accidentally upgraded lost jailbreak and unlock. It was lucky that there was another exploit that got turned into blackra1n. However people were stuck for quite a while and we might not get so lucky with 3.2.

The only way to stay jailbroken on a 3GS is to get on the pwnagetrain and never jump off to use an official apple firmware. This protects jailbreak and unlock.
