Default iPhone detects Headphone when it's not inside and other way round.

A friendly Hello from Germany (so excuse my english)

several weeks ago I bought an iPhone 2g 16GB. Suddenly it started to act strange.
So it detects a Headset when its not installed, and detects no Headset if one is inserted in the Headphone Jack.
All cleaning, pushing in and out, restoring, reseting, downgrading, upgrading etc. didnt't work. Everytime it says "Ringer (headphones)" when no headphone is installed. Or only "Ringer" if the Headphone is installed.

I thougt that it would be possible to solve the Problem with a small Software, which changes the signal, which comes from the Headphonejack sensor, but i actually dont know how to write such a Software, also because i don't have a Mac at home..

I really hope you can help me.

I have similar problems with my 2G iPhone, I think it is a hardware problem, in my case caused by mild water damage. I don't think it can be solved with software.

I actually don't hope so, because on my iPhone everything works, for example if I put in the Headset not the whole way, so that the "Headphone Jack Insert Sensor" is not touched, I can hear Music trought my Headphone...
Very strange actually.
