AT&T’s Exclusivity To End December 31, 2009!


Soo apparently this is the last year AT&T and Apple will be binded together in this stupid contract that locked the iPhones to AT&T only use in the USA....

My question is.... Whats Next Boys?

Unless they release a new phone, they will have to stick with AT&T for hardware limitations.

They may indeed ditch the exclusive contract, meaning that they can pursue business deals with other carriers like Verizon in the even they create a new model compatible with the technology they use.

Unlike the rest of the world, all US carriers have different type of networks, so phone are not readily exchangeable.

And the more important fact: ending the exclusive contract does not mean the end of AT&T locked iPhones. It means that other carriers will offer the iPhone too. Just that and nothing more.

I would expect this to be all over the news if it was true.
I do hope they have a legitimate source as at&t is the souls reason why our iPhones are so limited (skype ,sling and others wifi only).
