Hello, i have a question about a problem i have.

I had a 2g iPhone and it fell to the ground and the touch screen is now broken so i can not use the phone at all until i fix the lcd. There is no point in fixing it since im just going to put more money on the phone and i already bought a 3Gs instead, but i need to get all my contacts out of it and other things i need.

Ive seen on youtube and other places where you can control your iPhone from your computer, but ill need to get on Cydia to install something and then i have to check my IP address on my iPhone. I cannot do any of those things since the touch screen is broken and it wont unlock or anything.

I was wondering if there's any other way on doing this without having to get on Cydia or use my iPhone IP address and just use the usb cable to connect on the computer.

There's a plugin that i use for total commander,with which you are able to browse the filesystem of your phone without ssh and ip.

You can get at your contacts another way.

iphone-backup

This will extract the files you want from the backup that iTunes makes when you sync your iPod with your computer.

If you really need to get at the last version of the files. You can try http://code.google.com/p/iphonebrowser/ Your phone must be jailbroken to access files outside the music/media partition. This includes contacts etc.

Just a tip:If you have your backups encrypted in itunes the above will not work.
