Those reps are completely misinformed. Don't turn off your VM notification. It might take a little bit for the fix to work for everyone.

Thanks all, seems like the best option is to have T-Mobile turn my VM notification back on and wait for the fix to take effect here in Phoenix.

Voicemail notification is now working on both my iphones. Thanks to T-Mobile for fixing this!

Mine too is fixed, well Almost. No phantom Texts, Red dot comes and goes as it's supposed to. Notification that I have missed call in "list of missed calls". BUT NOW, the name/number of the missed call is not displaying in the middle of the display as usual. thoughts? so when i have a missed call it doesn't show up when i pick up the iphone. does anyone else have this issue? perhaps i should call tmobile back? please advise. thanks

1. This is a permanent fix in the component that was mangling the notification being sent. This wasn't a mass move of people to a different VM server. We are still trying to track down why it started at that particular time though...
2. No deep misinformation between Tier 3 and Tier 2 (me). Just takes time to trickle down to them that a fix was made. They are just 9 to 5'ers like the rest of us coming in and sitting at a cubicle and trying to deal with the information given to them in alert emails and on the intranet... :-)

Problem solved!

I tested both retrieving voice mail, which no longer gives me a text from Sept 2012, this is good.

And I tested receiving a voice mail, and the red notification dot appears as it should, no text from 1969 anymore.

Its all good

Just jailbroke and unlocke my wifes i-phone and the phantom text messages did not show when we tested her voicemail. I had t-mobile turned my MWI back on and no more phantom text messages. MWI now turns off and on as should.

give t-mobile props for fixing issue since our iphones are not t-mobile authorized phones.

and interesting question is, Why Dec 1969 and Sep 2012?
very odd years for a sms dont ya think?

but good thing we actually have some tmobile guys on our side, all issues with blank sms fixed !
