You are wrong. T-mobile is the one at fault. They have admitted it is because they have update their software which is sending out a different signal than it usually did to notify the phone there is a voicemail and then notify that the there is no longer voicemail. The problem has absolutely nothing to do with cydia or the fact the phone is jail broken. It is all because of the codes and signals being send and injected from tmobile. If you do not know what you are talking about then just stay off the thread.

You will have a temporary new wall paper that "says sad iphone" or something like that with a cartoon. when u unlock it, it will say its going into safe mode and that in fact, cydia caused the problem. i dont have a solution to this though...
do you read what you write before pressing submit? iphones that are not unlocked, using cydia and on ATT are fine. tmobile messed something up in their system. also safe mode is a feature by apple...not cydia. nowhere does it say Cydia caused the problem

i've gotten used to the texts..aside from being a nuisance when dealing w vm it's not THAT much of a problem. Hopefully Tmob fixes this issue and we don't get any more surprises.

Until it gets resolved, I've actually been using the Sep 4, 2012 ''mysterious'' texts to mess w drunk ppl while i'm out; i check my vm and show them the received texts and tell them i think i'm being contacted by someone from the future (2012 seems to freak ppl out).

I just got off the phone with Tmobile and had them disable the message notification. Since there is a charge for the (non) test message being received..I thought it was the best idea. I will call again to see if they have addressed the issue..

your on the right track but isnt the safe mode thing part of mobilesubstrate?

i get maybe 2 of these a day lately so ill probably just call tmobile to be another person calling so they will try and fix the problem a lil sooner if they even care

Don't they ask you for your phone, last 4 digits of your social secutity and at least a zip code if not a full address in order to get some help from them? I don;t think its that easy to be just another caller when it comes to T-Mo.

Good luck though!

STOP complaining to T-Mobile about this issue!! Remember - we're running a phone that isn't supported by TMO. They know what phone you're using and who knows, they may disable features because of this. My friend tried to add overseas roaming support + TZones to her iPhone a few weeks ago, but declined to offer support after they identified the phone as an iPhone.

AND! Before I had a iPhone 2 years ago, I was using a Motorola ROKR phone and I had the same EXACT blank text message issue when I receive a new VM. So this has happened before, and I got used to it.

Get used to it - Let them fix it when they get to it.

I have confirmed this is happening to one other person I know that has an unlocked iphone on tmobile in the USA.
Both phones were unlocking using QuickPwn for windows. Firmware 2.2.1, 2g phones.

Anyone know whats going on?

Thanks in advance!
ok. just found out how to fix the creepy blank texts coming to the iphone, from t-mobile. apparently, it has something to do with the connections with voxmail & texs msgs. so here's the fix...

GO TO THE IPHONE'S NUMBER PAD AND TYPE IN #793# AND HIT TALK. THIS WILL RESET YOUR IPHONE'S VOXMAIL PASSWORD TO THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF YOUR PHONE NUMBER(UNLESS YOU USE AUTO-PASSWORD LOGIN, REMEMBER THIS. OTHERWISE, NO WORRIES.).

i did this to my and my friend's iphones and the creepy txts msgs have stopped. you can also call t-mobile to confirm if you want to...

have fun!
