I have done all the steps.
My mail works fine for receiving, but when i try to send, it says it can't find the server. I am using a corporate account, and i have SSL enable, which it needs to be for sure. Does anyone have any advice? |

something funny in brooklyn
i did this last week, tzones worked fine. but then i tried to do the 'free' hack, and ever since then, my EDGE speeds have been total shit. like 2k/sec pages take minutes to load, i dunno what happened. now i'm back on tzones, wiped my prefs and redid it clean, but still REALLY slow.. i've got a ip, i can connect, but totally unuseable speeds. maybe i'm in some limbo from all my plan switching, and it will clear up. i should prob let it sit for a day and not mess with it anymore if anyone has any ideas, a PM would be great. thanks |

Can someone please explain GPRS for me? Is it an alternative to the expensive edge network?

Finally got this working after some trouble.
I signed up for T-zones through the T-mobile website, but 24 hours later, I still wasn't able to get the net working, and after dialing *3001#12345#* I could see that my IP was still 0.0.0.0 I think there were a couple of other people here having a similar problem. What I did was go into the nearest T-mobile store and switch my sim card (which was very old, circa 2000) for a new one. The process only took a few minutes, was free, and I got to keep my number. When I got home, I switched off wifi and put the new sim card in. Right away, instead of Safari complaining that it couldn't connect, I could see that it was trying to connect, but then it would go to a 502 error. I docked the iphone and used iBrickr to copy over the proxy files... I didn't want to install SSH and worry about battery drainage issues. Turned off the phone, turned it back on, and the internet is working! 150-190 kbps on iphonenetworktest. Thanks guys! The only issue is Youtube. It tries for a minute, then says "can't connect to Youtube." Has anyone who has had this issue figured it out? |
