This has been figured out before.
Please visit: http://etler.livejournal.com/18726.html Also, there is a thread on the list here as well. Just do a search for the above link on the forum here. Don't know the thread number, but post date was 9-13-2007, 7:32pm "Got my GPRS Proxy settings to work" Good luck and let me know if it works since I am considering getting the cheapest T-mobile plan + this 5.99 internet !

OK I just did the *hack*. Apparently it may take some time to know if it works, so I'll get back to you. T-Mobile also told me my plan may not take effect for 24 hours either. So many variables right now.
![]() As of calling T-Mobile an hour ago and activating my plan, and then hacking it just five minutes ago, nothing works. Will give it some more time... Last edited by poppyseed; 09-16-2007 at 09:51 PM. |

Wait, I need to make sure of a few things.
1.) First, I put that .pac file in the correct place. 2.) Second, I edited that string from the first post and put in function FindProxyForURL(url, host) { if (isInNet(myIpAddress(), "10.0.0.0", "255.0.0.0")) return "PROXY 216.155.165.50:8080"; else return "DIRECT"; } 3.) Do I need to edit the EDGE settings on the iPhone settings menu? Currently they list APN as wap.cingular, and username and password are all Cingular related. Did I miss something? |

Wap is faster cause it has ten times the amount of users, the internet account believes you are using a slower pda phone (smartphone) unable to hit these transfer rates as edge is designed to be a pretty fast network (AT&T's edge network). Unfortunately the 5.99 T-MobileWeb package does not support aim/IRC unlike the Internet package which does (and also doesn't require a proxy). But, from what I can tell it all seems to be working well.
