I spent the better part of last night up until about 2am working on this unlock. Even though the unlock looks like it worked I am unable to get service. I get all the new menus i.e carrier etc...... but can never get service. Below are the conditions i am in:
1. I have T-mobile usa, and performed the unlock with the new t-mobile sim in the iphone. The sim does work in my blackberry so I know its a valid sim. 2. When i first did the unlock i was running 1.01 of the firmware, I realized after i finished that I forgot to upgrade the firmware, so I went to itunes and did a restore/update. Then re-went through the unlock process 3. When i went through the unlock process and got to the minicom part the first command you issue to minicom "AT+CLCK="PN",0,"00000000" says ERROR 4. The second command in minicom produces the proper results 5. Ive noticed that when I restart the comcenter using "launchctl load -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist" that it starts but never seems to search for a signal i get a bunch of --------'s where the carrier name is supposed to be. Only after i reboot the phone by holding the power button does it seem to search and then return the "No Service" 6. I have tried replacing the lockdownd and chmodding it to 755, which has no effect or resolution. Can someone help? |

Actually, you may want to check out my response in this thread: http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=4091
In my case, I had to restore the EEP file as well using bbupdater with the "-e" option. My ability to connect even to a legitimate AT&T network broke after I tried to roll back the firmware to v1.0 about three or four weeks ago, but it wasn't a serious enough issue for me to bother with until I tried the unlock tonight and was still stuck with a perpetual "No Service" response. The instructions and a link to the appropriate firmware EEP files are in the othe thread I referenced above. Last edited by jhollington; 09-12-2007 at 03:42 PM. |
