iPhone shuts off randomly & won't turn back on.

Hello all, I've got a 2g iPhone I've had for quite a while and everything has been fine until recently. It will shut it self off and most of the time I can't turn it back on. Unresponsive to the power button. Can't seem to figure out what causes it. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks for all the info!

try a DFU restore to 2.2

hah, i had a phone like that a while back, nothing helped, the only thing that made it go away was to upgrade to 2.2 and use BL 3.9, it's pretty much working now without failing.
it took me 3 months to figure this one out, or i just got lucky

I have the same exact problem... but I didnt update mine to 2.2 and it's still happening... how can I choose which bootloader to use?

install bootneuter from cydia and it will allow u to flash ur bootloader to whatever version.

P.S when using bootneuter, remember to set autolock to never and DO NOT interrupt the process of flashing, as doing so will most probably end u up with a bricked iPhone.
