My bluetooth stopped working after a successful HW unlock.

I know about this

"DELETE the termcap file in etc/ folder"

But I don't have this file anywhere on my iphone, I think I checked/search all dirs.

Any other ways to restore my bluetooth?

A poster in the Bluetooth Issue thread just turned on "Flight Mode" and his BT worked. Try that.

I think some of you are confusing a limitation of the iPhone with a genuine Bluetooth issue.

There is a case where some people have reported Bluetooth not working after hacks and the process to remove Termcap whilst a strange fix does work.

What you have got to remember is the iPhones Bluetooth is not a full implementation!!!
It only works with devices like headsets, you cannot use it for file transfers, linking up to laptops etc

Yes, I know this sucks, but its another shortsighted feature Apple saw fit to do like not offering 3G, not supporting MMS, not including GPS, not being able to record Video etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love my iPhone still, but I just wish Apple hadn't given the critics so much ammunition :-)

So, if you still have a non-working Bluetooth problem trying to pair the handset up with a headset and you have tried the TermCap fix, then you still have a valid gripe but I think this message might some people realise they were trying to get something working that is simply not supported!


Hope I have saved some people getting more frustrated, trying to fix something that can't be fixed :-)
