Default Hardware Without Hardware

Hi,
I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to unlock the iphone with the hardware instructions but without the actual soldering/needles etc (without opening the iphone) only by using the software??
Does it work?
Will it work?
And if not why not?

KK

It will not work; cause if it did it would be called a software unlock, and not a hardware unlock.
The reason for the solder/needles is to interrupt it so we can alter the firmware/run the software to unlock it.

It didn't work for me.
I ended up with an empty baseband driver and I had to do the full restore from iTune.
