i am living in switzerland and read all the threads about the iphone working in switzerland. The activation is not a big deal acording all the instructions.
But to use all other functionalities.

Which way i have to go.
The way to clone the att&t card with the swisscom card. Here i have the V1 problem. I do not have such a sim card.

Or the TurboSim way. It is very hard to get such a card for a affordable price. Where i can get one.

Or what would you do?

It's very easy. If you don't have a V1 card, the only choice (today) is the turbo. But it's out of stock everywhere. So either you wait for new stock, or you buy one on ebay or elsewhere, or you wait for the software/hardware unlock.

I might be able to sell you a Turbo SIM. I receive mine tomorrow and will hopefully have my Swisscom SIM working. I've got the iPhone already ready with all files so it should be a quick test. I have 3 more ordered from VOTech before they closed the e-shop and should know when those will arrive soon.

Please don't bother me with questions about price and delivery just yet. I won't know until VOTech sends me the email telling me when it will be shipped. My order has been confirmed though!

Firstly, I don't speak French that well... If you contact me please use English ok? Again, I ordered Turbo SIMs 1 1/2 weeks ago and I expect to be in their first shipment. No one knows yet when this will be though. Status page is here:

I got impatient and bought one from the flea market yesterday (paid a small fortune). Anyway, let's see how long VOTech takes. We also might be surprised with a software unlock next week.

On another note, I will be traveling to the USA in a month and plan on bringing back a load of iPhones if there is enough interest in them...

I can confirm, my Swisscom SIM card with Turbo SIM works PERFECTLY!!! Calls in/out, Edge, SMS, etc... No issues to report at all!

Used Applesaft method as ISA method gave comms error...

i still have one more question.

When i buy the iphone in the usa(i will be here for almost 4 more weeks :-)) there is a at&t card in the iphone. But i don't want to make a 2 year subscription with at&t.
Can i just buy the phone with a pre paied at&t sim card like the "easy card" from swisscom. Will that work out?

Do you think in the next few weeks there will be a much easier software unlock hack???????

No problem to register with a goplan. Check out http://www.hacktheiphone.com/iphone_...ctivation.html. There is a section "How to get a pre-paid plan". A friend of mine did it from Switzerland. Once you have registered for such a plan, you will be called back by ATT for activation.

just walk in a apple store and buy a iPhone and take them at home - the activation is (regulary) at home but this i our choice ;-)

i am a bit confused.
You mention the section about "How to get a pre-paid plan" i checked it out and saw the cheapest subs. is 49.99$
Is this correct. I have to pay 50 bucks each month?

Can you explain that to me in another way. Do i really have to make a subs. or can i just go with a pre paied model?
