NateTrue has recently leaked a v1.1.3 Jailbreak without the Dev-Team's permission, getting himself kicked off the team. Against our wishes, he's included both files belonging to Apple and patches which contain copyrighted information by Apple, making his personal release illegal and unethical. This is directly contrary to the spirit of true hacking, honorable competition, and sharing of knowledge. He's a disgrace to developers everywhere. I'd like to strongly advise against using his system for upgrading, and make it known that the rest of the dev team does not support software piracy or copyright infringement. The method the Dev Team was/is planning on releasing allows you to perform the jailbreak without violating federal law. You can expect a method, followed by a Mac-friendly tool, very soon.

do you know why he leaked it. I dont see any personal gain from releasing it?

Yada Yada. I am not going to post conspiracies here but just would like to thank you and your team, especially NateTrue for developing this JB. And you guys better reinstate Nate soon. He's a valuable asset to your arsenal.

My guess is that after the very poor prank about releasing the JB in a day's time, they were aware that we were mad at them and to calm us down, they "leaked" the JB via Nate.

Actually he's got a donations page up and is making some money on it. He also wanted the fame, like GeoHot, of being the first to post. Unfortunately, for his users, his jailbreak is incomplete and a lot of stuff that we never shared with him is causing things like mail passwords and such to break. Our release is nearly complete and we hope to have it out tomorrow sometime.

And FYI we did have this jail broken within the first day or two of its release... as I've said in many posts, we decided not to release the actual method, to safeguard our chances that it will work in future software versions. So we've gone through this whole song and dance to try and get you a legitimate, legal way to upgrade your phone without revealing the method. Unfortunately, nate wasn't too concerned with the legitimate or the legal part... ours will be free from copyright infringement.

Meaning that whoever followed Nate's guide, cant update to get stuff like Locate and Hybrid working? Meaning all the users who followed Nate's guide are screwed?

I support the dev team... Just wish you guys will resolve your differences and all is cool from now on. What else can we do...

Expecting the "official" 1.1.3 upgrade soon... :-)

I think I'm missing something. If Nate did leak the jb and was kicked out, why is he being thanked here?
