Default [1.1.3] Jailbreak needed why should wait for sdk ?

Hi,
i am sitting in front of 5 phones right now. They are all offical unlocked with german t-mobile sim. But my friends just could not wait and updated to 1.1.3. Right now they all have a bootloader 4.6 and a 1.1.3 firmware. So the installer app is gone... So all we need is a jailbreak for 1.1.3 to get a new installer on the phone. So the guys found a way to jailbreak, but they will not release it before apple will release their sdk. Maybe i am stupid, but i cannot understand why. ok, let me sa apple will release 1.1.4 and the jailbreak wont work anymore. OK, but we will have a sdk, and i thought then it would be possible to write software for the phone. so is a jailbreak needed anymore when we have an sdk? and do you think 1.1.3 will be the last firmware ever? if apple is going to release a new firmware, they will do, think about 2.0 at the end of the year maybe? would you like to stay at 1.1.3 all the time? there are many many guys with and bricked phone right now, and they are all waiting for the jailbreak, so i think it is really disappointing for them if they had to wait a month more, playing ith their 400 euro brick... so maybe if all of us will say dear dev team please release it, maybe the guys will give us a hint of jailbreaking it. i think apple will do whatever they will do, it doesnt matter when the jailbreak is released. they can do a 1.1.5 after the sdk. they can add some more really cool features, so noone will would like to stay at 1.1.3 then...think about that and write down here to help us and say to the dev team: Please help us again and release the jailbreak for all of us who just bricked our iphone with a really quick 1.1.3 update. please help us again. think about ! apple dont care. they will do whatever they are going to do, dont care about us in the past and donnt care about us in the future... years ago maybe, but meanwhile they only try to make money like every other company do... so again please release the jailbreak right now, donation will follow then. Anyone who have the same opion like me, write down here, the dev team will read and maybe think about that... but whatever they will do, we all have to say a big thank you for them, making it possible that we are here right now

I'll wait for the SDK and get official apps if this is the stand-off from devs in the community. They may as well go and work for M$ or Apple!

I hope they will release the jailbreak earlier than late february, but I understand they will wait 'till the SDK, although I don't think Apple cares that much.

I mean, sure Apple cares, but before they will release 1.1.4, they will check every hole in the firmware, to make sure it isn't 'hackable', no matter if the jailbreak is already released.

If they wants to wait, we have to wait.. they made it, so...
Time will tell what the best decision was.

I agree with your thought, but then again i also agree with devs team on holding on 1.1.3 jailbreak - waiting for the sdk to come out.

I assume, jailbreaking process is getting harder and harder, maybe devs team themself feels even they are quite lucky this time, but might not be lucky next time because it starting to become impossible to jailbreak.

Now, by not releasing it yet, waiting for SDK first (we only need to wait 1 month more for God's sake!), hopefully, Apple won't know where are their weaknesses. When we got the SDK, the theory is, who needs 1.1.4, 1.1.5, 2.0?! we are already quite ok with iPhone performance now, and having an SDK will allow us write whatever program we can imagine (hopefully). Let me ask you, what is the 1.1.3 features that generally an 1.1.2/1.1.1+3rd party apps cannot do? no MMS, no cut&paste either, only because of Google Maps we ask/force the devs to reveal our truf card?!?

If the devs release it now, then Apple will learn where are their mistakes and fix them, and it is guaranteed that they will release another new firmware with fixed bug and harder, multiple, quadruple encryption, BEFORE they release the SDK, AND the SDK might going to be rely on the keys inside this new firmware to protect it from able to be use by people like us. When that time come, what we will do? begging again to the devs team like now? while the firmware might already be impossible to be broken..BECAUSE we open our cards too soon. No more bullets left.

This is surely like the story of the goose and the golden egg.

And.. hate to say this, am a mac lover but, ..Apple..You are no better than M$ . Even M$ is better, they don't lock their Pocket PC!!

All that you say could still happen even if the devs wait until the SDK is released. Apple can patch the F/W in 1.1.4 after the SDK release and also issue an update with the SDK to make it work only with 1.1.4! Furthermore, I do not believe that people will not WANT to update their firmware after the SDK. Not knowing if and when a bug/annoyance will be fixed by someone is not something people will put up with. They will want to update! Apple has brought improvements with each firmware (be it big or small) and people will want to continue to get these improvements!

So when they released 1.1.3 they didn't care to check for the holes? But when 1.1.4 is released they have done a much better job?
I think it is smart to wait with the jailbreak until the SDK. If the SDK demands a new firmware i would be happier to get it jailbreaked with this method a few days after the release than sit here with 1.1.3 jailbreaked with functions i already have.

If 1.1.3 would have come with some really cool features and upgrades maybe i would have wanted it jailbreaked, but to me 1.1.3 was pretty lame. Almost everything can be done with a jailbreaked 1.1.2.

Better to keep the jailbreak a secret and hope that Apple dont find the hole for the next FW.

What is this SDK and why apple should care to release it?

wether we wait or not apple aint stupid. hacking the iphone as been the best thing for the iphone, it boost sales same as it did when the ps2 was hacked.

holding back on the firmware hack will gain no advantage over apple they probably know all the weaknesses already.

dev team own little fantasy world
