Hi guys, was running an unlocked jailbroken 1.1.1 and placed it in the sounddock, as i have done many times.

The screen went all crazy and thats where the problems started. it appeared ok after a restart, but after checking it 30 mins later, it was really warm, and the batt drained. plugged it in and the screen went nuts again. tried a reset and got the itunes logo. So tried to restore in both 1.0.2 and 1.1.1, which appear to get right to the firmware part, then fail.

Then itunes came up with an iPOD error!! wtf. Now i am in constant reboot in DFU mode, so it appears in itunes, both on the mac and pc, and then then dissapears.

Is this worth sending to apple, or will they sniff me out. Anything else I can try. I tried the apptapp stuff already

Since you already are in DFU mode, connect the phone, launch ibrickr, follow the instructions to downgrade to 1.0.2. Do the AppTapp thing then, should be able to kick out dfu mode, if you can't jailbreak with it, use another tool...

Ps: How's the phone ? DFU mode, then the "spinning wheel" and reboot ?

Now on to your question. The first thing I would do is not send it back to Apple in an unlocked state. I would send 220v thru it first. Secondly, I would use ibrikr or someother program to kick it out of test mode. If that fails, give it a direct shock of electricity and send it back as you dont know why it quit working. Take a subwoofer magnet and sit that on it. May or may not erase the thing. I dont know. It does wonders on a computer hard drive.

Yeah, probably fried... Follow what "scammer" said, fry your phone definitly and then send it to Apple...
