restart - apple logo on black LCD

iTunes restore 1.1.1 using the SHIFT and selecting 1.1.1 fw
disconect from cable --- (DID NOT WORK FOR ME.... see below)
reconnect cable with iTunes <--- These two steps are needed to run jailbreakme.com. Without the iTunes connection the phone does not reset and startup UNLOCKED... so iTUNES will ask to ACTIVATED....
CANCEL iTunes ACTIVATION ... click yes to confirm

Slide Emergency Call

Answer then Hold then Decline

Add Contact

I've done a little research and find out that the apple logo on the rear panel is made of some kind of plastic polymer and there for it is not conductive. So if you tape that area it is possible that you prevent the phone from cooling down and thus damaging it.
BUT ZuZ is right, in some cases the rear panel that is made of aluminum will contact with the heat sink on the phone's circuit and causes the NO SERVICE problem. If you want to correct this problem the best solution is to cut 2 or 3 small pices of any electrical tape (about 2mm ) and stick it around the apple logo (but not entire logo) so you can make some space and prevent the contact of the rear panel and the heat sink.

anyways, yea, did you try installing another version instead of "cutting your fringers" first? lolol or did you consult anyones advice before doing this or did you just freeball it and say whatever its just a phone? You should have, because i doubt tightening screws is going to help you at all. If it was brand new, you should have played with the firmwares. Also, maybe you are on 1.1.2 and thats why you had no service, what a noob
