how can i turn off or how can i reboot? are they different or the same action?
I want to unlock my iphone but when i read the guidde to do this, i cannot understand turn off and reboot... when you turn off or reboot iphone, you will also hold the button on the right above... help me about that... thank you

Read the manual.

Hold the sleep/wake + home button (in front) together for 3 sec= turn off.
Hold the sleep/wake button when phone is turned off= turn on.
Hold the sleep/wake button + home button for longer till Apple logo appears = reset

Or if you have Term-vt100 installed, open up the terminal and type reboot (return)

Why is it necessary to hold the sleep and home buttons together to turn off the phone? My phones all turn off simply by holding the sleep button, then sliding the red slider.

thats only to reset the iphone not to turn it off/on

Sorry, but I see absolutely no difference. Try it. Many of the scenarios for virginizing, restoring, etc. all talk about holding the sleep and home buttons at the same time, then sliding the red slider. This is not to reset the phone. I have always simply used the sleep button to turn it off. If you read the second post on this thread it says 'hold the sleep and home button for 3 seconds to turn off the phone. I say this is not necessary.

i don't understand... if i hold the sleep/wake in top phone... that is turn off or reset.
and when i want to turn off, what should i do?
when i want to reset/reboot what should i do?

Dang! you're right- Even holding the sleep button alone will give you the red slide to turn off screen. Is it in the manual?

ok this is pretty simple!!! if you wanna turn your phone off just hold the sleep/awake button and slide to turn it off

if you wanna restart your phone hold together the sleep/awake button with the home button, until you get the apple logo.
