Exclamation xGPS on 3gs

Hey guys,
I'm from Holland and I'm going on vacation for a tour trough Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Hungary and the Czech Republic. I have a 3gs and my question to you is: Can I use it with no Internet connection and with dateroaming 'off' in another country then Holland (T-Mobile) without paying for the Internet connection?
I mean does xGps use Internet only or can it use the build-in GPS-reciever in my iPhone 3gs. Is it like normal GPS build-in in your car that you can use it everywhere as long as you have the maps and a sattelite signal and not an Internet signal? Hope you understand, because I don't know this is correctly English and hope I'm talking clear.

I have used xGps, but for what you are trying to do, it will not work, because the maps that xGps uses are not built into the program, they are drawn by downloading from the internet connection of the iPhone.

I recommend Navigon, which loads a rather large maps file into your iPhone. That means it works with NO cell phone reception at all, just like a stand alone car navigation GPS system.

I recently spent 3 days along the Big Sur coast which is mountainous and there is zero cell phone reception. Navigon worked really well. As with any GPS, there are moments when GPS signal is lost if you are under heavy tree cover, or up against a canyon wall that blocks line of sight to the GPS satelite. But, I never missed a turn, and every instruction Navigon gave was correct, and on time.

Navigon is not cheap, but it does work when there is zero cellular data network connection. xGps is free, but does not work unless you have phone service.

I bought Navigon because they announced a Traffic module, which Im dissapointed to say, they have not delivered. The alternative to Navigon is Tom Tom, but I do not believe they have any traffic data. The reviews I read gave Navigon the advantage.

You will also need a way to hold the iPhone on your dash while navigating. I use the Proclip or Brodit dock. There are also a number of windshield suction cup mounts for iPhone, including announced but not shipped ones from both TomTom and Navigon. My car stereo allows me to plug in the USB cable from the iPhone, which charges the phone, and plays the music and navigation instructions through my car stereo.

I also own a Garmin stand alone GPS. I have found my iPhone can do everything my Garmin can, so I do strongly recommend Navigon, if you take the extra steps to provide a dock for the phone in your car.

Is there a cracked version of Navigon in Cydia or Installer or another turn-by-turn navigator program that can download big maps and work without Internet connection?

No warez support here. We don't allow. Get offmaps from the app store. It's the cheapest solution but no navi
