I wrote this up because I was tired of Stumbler Plus not working on my 3G running 3.0.
For those of you with an iPhone 3G running OS 3.0: First: Install the broken version of Stumbler Plus using Cydia. Next, Download this file to the desktop: StumblerPlus-1.2rev1.tar.gz Official (WORKS): http://www.iphone.mysticwall.com/dow...1.2rev1.tar.gz Mirror (WORKS): http://www.b3an.com/Public/StumblerPlus-1.2rev1.tar.gz For those of you without the ability to easily untar/gzip, here is a ZIP version: http://www.b3an.com/Public/StumblerPlus-1.2rev1.zip Next, download iPhone Browser: http://www.iphonebrowser.googlecode....owser.1.91.zip Plug your iPhone into your system with the USB cable. Unzip both the iphonebrowser app, and the StumblerPlus archive to the desktop. Open up iPhone Browser, let it detect your phone, and then navigate to 'Applications' then to 'StumblerPlus.app' Drag the files from inside 'StumblerPlus.app' on your desktop, into 'StumblerPlus.app' on the iphone browser. Done. It now works. |

I used your info to do it another way.
I used Cydia to install wget Mobile Terminal OpenSSH WhatIP you will need to find out your iphones ip address with WhatIP and write it down. I used putty to login to the iphone user: root default password is: alpine typed: wget http://www.iphone.mysticwall.com/dow...1.2rev1.tar.gz tar -xf StumblerPlus-1.2rev1.tar.gz cp -vfr StumblerPlus.app /private/var/stash/Applications.pwn/ rm -vfr StumblerPlus.app and now it works for me thanks. |

The step below using wget worked for me too, but after an iPhone OS update I repeated these steps again to get Stumble Plus back and it didn't work after that. So I was goofing around after work and discovered this worked:
(My iPhone was not physically connected to my Mac at all (WiFi Only)...I know Fugu did not work for me when I was connected and in iTunes.) 1. Download Fugu (an OS X SSH GUI). 2. Install from Cydia: OpenSSH, SBSettings (easy way to get you iPhone's IP), and the broken version of StumblerPlus. 3. Download StumblerPlus-1.2rev1.tar.gz from this post to your Desktop or where ever. And then extract the file. 4. Open Fugu. Login using your iPhone's IP, User: root, and Password: alpine. 5. In Fugu...on your iPhone go to the root "/"...then go into Applications. (You will see a list of all your iPhone Apps). 6. In Fugu...go to your Mac and locate the stumblerplus.app you extracted earlier. 7. Upload stumblerplus.app from your Mac to your iPhone. 8. Any "Couldn't create directory: Failure" errors just click ok. 9.Close Fugu. 10. Enjoy StumblerPlus. (I did not need to reboot my iPhone but if issues try a reboot.) THANKS TO THE POST BELOW, your steps lead me to this fix!!! Last edited by Hi-Teck; 11-02-2009 at 03:54 AM. |
