Default Cydia Update - error code (2)

I'm getting this error when cydia is updating for the first time. It's a clean install btw.

Quote:
Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned
an error code (2)
and this is cydia's log for the error.

Quote:
dpkg: parse error in file '/var/lib/dpkg/status near
line 26 package 'firmware':
duplicate value for user-defined field 'Name'
Can you guys duplicate the error? Maybe my cydia is broken...

-------

Fixed: I changed the status file.

The duplicate was: 'Name: Debian Packager' and 'Name: iPhone firmware'

thanks

Default The Fix!

Hey there. The actual problem is that ICY (the other installer) is no longer supported with this 3.0 update . So.. the only way to fix this is to re-jailbreak the iPhone, fixing this problem. You actually need to re-jailbreak it, either using redsn0w or pwnagetool, but this time, check off icy. And if you re-jailbreak and ICY is still there, DONT OPEN IT! It will only mess it up again, since ICY doesnt know the proper directories for the new software. I hope this fixes your problem and if it doesnt then just tell me and ill try to help again.

you guys have to re-jailbreak (yes, restore also) with ONLY CYDIA selected. Then, if you want to though I wouldn't recommend, install Icy from Cydia AFTER you have restored and jailbreaked. DON'T SELECT BOTH INSTALLERS FROM REDSNOW 0.72!!!

No Installer, Icy, Kryptes, RockYourPhone, they're full of errors.....
Cydia ONLY!!!! (and, of course, some Appstore....)

I was jailbreaking my iPhone 3G and selected both Cydia and Icy... I followed the instructions and jailbroke it again, by selecting only Cydia, but Icy icon is still available.. Anybody knows how to fix this? I mean how to remove Icy icon..

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Meidas

You did not restored, just reran redsn0w.

So the damage is done, and cannot be undone by a re run of redsn0w.

Try to restore and then use redsn0w without icy.
