Anyway you can backup manualy with WnSCP
Databases are located here: var/mobile/Library/ var/mobile/Library/Notes ---> notes.db var/mobile/Library/Safari ---> Bookmarks.plist - History.plist var/mobile/Library/SMS ---> sms.db var/mobile/Library/AddressBook ---> AddressBook.sqlitedb - AddressBookImages.sqlitedb And then Restore firmware and put back your databases with WinSCP Last edited by cosmoLV; 02-22-2008 at 08:41 AM. |

Had the same problem because I restored a backup after doing a restore with iTunes to 1.1.3. Figured that it could be a rights issue as many of the problems seem to have been. So I took a look at what's under /private/var/mobile and noticed that some files/folders under Library were owned by root. Just did a
$ chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile to fix it. Mail worked flawlessly after that. |

i am running a 1.0.2 OTB upgraded to 1.1.3 via iTunes, jailbroken via ZiPhone. my phone subsequently crashed, and then i restored to clean 1.1.3 firmware via iTunes, jailbroke activated and unlocked using ZiPhone again and all was good until I restored the settings from backup when syncing on iTunes to the previous iTunes profile. it then became unstable again. i have BSD Subsystem, Erica's iPhone Utilities, SUID LibFix, and Termvt100 i logged into Termvt100 and then started the bash command, then entered exactly the following text: $ chown -R mobile:mobile /private/var/mobile is there something i should enter differently, or do i need to check or install some other software before attempting this fix? many thanks! it would be great to be able to use the iTunes sync backup profile as a way to retain settings after doing a firmware restore. |
