"Different sim detected" rebelsim
Hi there, I have an iphone 3g running 2.2.1 baseband 02.30.03 and i have got a rebel sim, i have tried all different rebel sim software but each time i try to use it i get "different sim detected please connect to itunes" I can see in the corner i am getting full strength signal to Orange (UK). Does anyone know how I can get this sim to work??

OK i have found out most ppl with refurbed iphones from apple have this problem so i did a restore and now i dont have this problem. But now when i put in my rebel sim i just get a sim error or no sim detected. is there a procedure that im not doing to get this F IN thing to work???????

Yeah.. me too got the same problem.. I got a refurb 8gig iphone and tried to unlock it using gevey 3g... As u said, am also getting full signal to t mobile... if i make any calls to that t mob number, am able to answer that call.. but i get same error "different sim detected please connect to itunes" and the phone is in emergency mode...
someone plssssssssssssss help to resolve this issue......................

basicly that happends because the phone was activated using a different sim card so to fix this problem you guys need to restore the phone with the sim you will be using than jailbreak and activate with quickpwn.

So do i need to jailbreak it using quick pwn??? Is there a way to do this without jailbreaking the phone??? Cos i thought we don need to jailbreak the fone if we use sim-adapters...
Also if i jailbreak it now, will i be able to soft unlock it (when dev team releases new yellowsnow for 2.30.03 BB)???

sorry guys no way to activate without jailbreaking. and yes jailbreaking is fully reveseble.
lets say you jailbreak the phone and activate, than later you dont whant it jailbroken all you have to do is restore and the phone will restart into factory settings.
