Hi Guys,
Im new to the forum so thought id say hi before trying to extract your pearls of wisdom. I have a 8GB 3G Iphone bought straight from Apple. As you probably all know Apple have started to ship all new iPhones (from Feb 09) on the lastest baseband and firmware. Previously I had a 3G iPhone which I jailbroke and unlocked with no probs at all. Me and my naivity thought it would be as simple to unlock as the 2G. I should of done my research as the Dev Team have not been able to get around the security on the baseband for unlocking the phone for all networks. Rather than give up I have purchased a Gevey plus 2 turbo sim so that I can use my Vodafone contract sim, which seems to do the trick. I can make calls and access the net, but I dont think its 3G as its not as quick as having the O2 sim in the phone. When I flick the 3G tab to on I just loose connection. I dont get the 3G or even the E icon at the top of the screen, just the blue round circle. The reason I think its not 3G is that I cannot watch YouTube vids using just the phones connection. JUst wondering if theres anyway of sorting this out? Or is it just a case of waiting for the Dev to provide an update to Quickpwn to unlock the phone? Any help will be greatly appreciated ![]() Fez

Hi,
I have been using my Gevey Plus 2 with my 3G iPhone on 2.2.1 with the latest base band now for over a week and all have been fine. I woke up this morning and had 2 texts during the evening but now i cannot get a signal. I have tried everything to get the signal back but still keep getting the same message: Network LOst: Your selected cellular network is no longer available. You can choose a different network in settings. I also keep get alerts that there is no SIM inserted, when it is in the holder. I am using the phone with a Vodafone UK contract sim. Does abnyone have any ideas on how I can resolve this? Chris |
