Congratulations on the baby. Boy, Girl? Twins? I wonder if there is a jailbreak app that turns the iPhone into a baby radio monitor :-) hahah
I hear you... there does seem to be a little bit of inconsistancy in the quality control department... the soldering is bad on some, some are too bendable, some the IC chip is too high. As for the software on the chip though, as far as the normal speed version, seems great. Just wish I could get the high speed working. I know there wont be much difference since they are supposed to both be running on the same software, but I just want it to work damnit! LOL
As for the baby, Thank you. Its a boy... now I have two boys!

Actually, no. The adapters are the same; the software is different.
You know that old saying, right? If you have a boy, you have to worry about one prick. If you have a girl, you have to worry about 1000 pricks. Consider yourself lucky. :-)

Hi all

I am in India and an avid reader of the thread.
I have a iPhone 3G 16 GB Black locked to Airtel.
I have been using it with out jailbreaking.
Two days back I got the YESSIM Y3G and I am using it with a Vodaphone prepaid Sim.
The solution worked OTB.
Please find the result below.
If any other *sim providers want to test their solution in Indian networks then they can PM me, I will be more than willing.
I have Sims of all the major operators here: Airtel, Vodaphone, Aircel, Virgin, BSNL, Smart, Idea etc.

YESSIM Y3G No cut solution (since 10th Oct 2008) on Vodaphone prepaid
Phone calls In/Out: working
SMS In/Out: working
Data 3G: Still not available in India(will be by Dec 2008)
Data EDGE: Working
GPS: Working but slow(might be due to the EDGE)
Initial Verdict: PASS so far

One day? Are you serious? Too soon, mate. Wait at least one week for a preliminary verdict, a month for a full one. These things can fail today, tomorrow, in a week.

Hello,

Just seen your signature. Can I ask what firmware you are using? You shouldn't have those problems.

Kindly PM me

Thank you in advance...

I have been watching the ebay for this fast Virgin-sim for the last whole week, I just saw it there yesterday. It has been keep us waiting for so long! The bidding price is USD 3.50 for one set of Normal Speed & Hign Speed Virgin-sim, pretty good. (special price as a compensation for our long waiting?)

I have placed an bid, I think they still have some stocks left.
