I am especially not convinced because of the restriction "data roaming must be enabled". This is exactly what is needed to fool the phone with the test MCC/MNC. With correct values there is no need for roaming.

You could moreover convince me by providing a logfile. The logfile you can take after successful login: **5005*78283# It resides in cd /Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Baseband/ and is one of the *-csi.plist

This could convince me, maybe

I think that trick could work - however I'd recommend you to test it on the latest baseband (firmware 5F108) if you run into it.

How this? I thought we should all keep the baseband firmware and not update?

LOL

I would sacrifice if you give me a good point to do it. What's the difference in testing universal sim with newer firmware compared to 1.45.00 ?
