I had a big cut. It would not go in. It kept bending. With the sanding, it went in, but the tape was not enough to hold it in place. It bended somewhere. All I care about is removing the tray without breaking it. I might get a prepaid at&t account until a software unlock is released. This thing is not safe.
If it moves, you didn't tape it right or didn't put it in the right way.
I did on more than 10 iPhones for my friends and my family already. I never had a problem like you did.
And non of the testers here got a problem like you.
I bet you put the sim in incorrectly.
Your pictures are too blurring. I can't see.

I did put it in correctly. I did put 3M double sided tape. It moved. It jammed. It broke. It' unusable. I had to open the phone to remove it, which sucks. I did not want to break the tray. Anyway, all seems to work but my right speaker. The dock connector seems tiled up towards the right. Maybe, it's not touching something. I don't think I broke it. I don't see how. Maybe, that cable close to the tray that comes out did not settle in properly. I'll have to open it again. I hate that I had to do this. Regardless, I'm not doing this stuff again. Clearly, people should stay away from them. Maybe, I have the older model. I don't know.

Tried a universal sim... it infact unlocks the 3G, and calls, sms and edge data work good(actually edge would poop out sometimes and would require a reboot or two, or six before it would work again).. problem is like all of these adapters, they eventually get the dreaded NO SIM error, they just dont communicate with the towers request for the IMEI or something and it locks up until you put the sim into a tmobile phone... pretty annoying. I was fine for almost a week, then it happened... I did the CPR and revived the SIM, placed it back into the 3G and 2 days later it did it again... no more for me thank you. Ive powered it down and I threw my little white 3G into my junk drawer for now and Im back to using my unlocked and signal reliable 8gig 2G and awaiting either a software update for the universal sim before I try it again, or a software unlock from the dev team.... I miss it already Im probably missing the 16gigs more than anything... maybe I should just swap the 16gig 3G for someones 16gig 2G :p ...

then you have an old version. If you ever get NO SIM, just reboot. It rarely, if ever, happens to me with v550

Thumbs up

**UPDATE**

I made my previous post and headed to work right after. Had my phone in my pocket, and it kept coming in and out of signal. I turned my radio up. I got to work and got slammed right when I got there. An hour later I took my phone out to look at it. All 5 bars there, and T-Mobile written across the top. Hmmmm, check my Safari, it works. Send my wife a text, she responds. Send her an MMS, she sends one back. I check my email, spam, ugh. I call a friend, reception is awesome, call quality is perfect.

I don't know why it wasn't working. Maybe the SIM needed time to get used to the network, or vice versa. I can tell you though, everything works. Well, everything except 3G, but I'm on T-Mobile so.....

I have the black i-smartphone SIM. I got it off Ebay. Make sure if you get one, it's not the gold colored one, it DOES NOT WORK, I can tell you personally from experience. The black one does though. You don't have to cut it, but it is kind of a pain to get it to drop in. The chip on it is huge, and sticks up quite far. I took some scotch tape and taped the bottom of the SIMS together, then put them into the tray and inserted it. It took a few tries to get it to drop in, but I finally got it to.
Take your time with it, It'll go. I didn't have to sand anything, or 3M tape it, or glue it. Just patience.

Finally, after having my 3G iPhone for over 30 days I can finally use it as a phone, and not just an iPod. Thanks for all the help here guys, I appreciate it, and your time spent.

Hi,

Our new no-sim cutting Virgin-sim samples send by Fedex to nvidia2008 (tracking 8658 1382 5187)
& Lost Soul - (tracking 8658 1382 5143)

We have send you our 2 new version of Virginsim , NS version (Normal speed) & FS version (Fast Speed), 2 pcs of each version. We have tested them in China , Hong Kong 3G & 2G network, & they all work very well , especially at the 3G network.

Please switch the data roaming on to get the 3G HSDPA working.

Awaiting for your exciting test result!

P.S. I hope the test can include not only how good they work , but also how fast they work. I would like you comments on the network search speed at the start -up & network recovery speed after signal lost on the FS version.

I do have version 5.50. I think it's just a waiting game. Some people go a month without problems... Others a week, and others days. The guy I bought it from is local and he assured me it's version 5.50 and said he would gladly program it again if I doubted it. I know im not alone having this no sim error on 5.50 and I'm not trying to jinx you... But I think it's bound to happen sooner or later.

So the right side is a mic, not speaker, and it is working. I am still trying to figure out why it's a little raised. I'll go into the AT&T store and ask them to match t-mobile's prepaid prices. I know that sometimes they are willing to match plans. I wonder how much data the maps app uses in list mode.
