tmobile's 3g band is not compatible with the iphone's (or most of the other 3g phones). 3g option just has to be enabled on my phone so I can reboot properly

24h with universal 5.5.0 and it is working

Operator: Turkcell/Turkey
Network: 2G only

Everything is working so far..

Two weeks now with universal sim and its still working.

Everything works great with the exception of 3G as I'm in the US on T-Mobile. But edge works fine.

I haz success.

iTunes 8 Mac
iPhone 3G AT&T locked
from 2.0.2 CFW upgraded to Original Firmware 2.1

Using Gevey 3G SIM
Activation remained
Jailbreak gone (of course)
Phone / SMS / 3G data all working on our local network (SMART in PH)
GPS working as well.
Baseband is 02.11.07

Will do some tests on Tornado, iSmartPhone, old Gevey, and new YesSIM within the week and report back. I'm still beginning to enjoy 2.1.

thanks i tried using smartphone 3 and tornado none of them working kept giving the no sim message

for those interested, you can jailbreak 2.1, but its not for the feint of heart:

So after fixing the reboot-no sim problem, sometimes when my phone crashes (esp after app install) I cannot get edge (no icon, no ip). To fix that problem I have to go into general settings-> network, switch off 3g and data roaming, press menu, go back into those settings, then turn them back on and then do a full reboot. Anyone know why this happens sometimes?
