TornadoSIM arrived today. I'll start testing this friday!

The guy I bought my universal sim from did this, and it slides in and out like nothing. He took my tmobile sim and used a normal fine grit nail file. Rubbed the side of the sim opposite of the sim chip of course until the universal sim and sim card slid in easily. I would have never thought to do that and it only took him maybe 1 min to get it filed down perfect.

Can you tell me in your test, did you turn on the 3G mode or just using the 2G network? My friend said some sim do not work in 3G mode, so I suggest all test results should also quote whether they are using the 3G or 2G mode.:hack:

It worked with 3g off, somewhat - everytime I would restart my phone I would get a NO SIM error. I fixed that by enabling 3g.

Hey all.

I bought this Unlock SIM http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWN:IT&ih=019 from an Ebay Seller.

There is nothing printed on the SIM itself - only on the IC:

F300
DAVX
627+

So i can't really tell what ??-SIM it is.
Edit: I did a little Research and found out:

It must be the "SUPER X-SIM IV", which can be found under http://www.simkey.org/download.htm

I tested it with the carrier simyo (Germany) - it sometimes worked. I was also able to do a little Browsing via GPRS or sometimes 3G.
I tested it with the carriere T-Mobile (Germany) - it never worked.

This "SUPER X-SIM IV" SIM is crap - i requested a refund.FAILED - at least the older version. A newer firmware covering the bugs I experienced was released today.

Next I will test "Universal SIM v. 550" - hope that works.

By enabling the 3G, but does this mean you are still using the 2G network only , not the 3G network? Is T-mobile USA a 3G or 2G network?

From reading these forums it seems to me that the universal sim seems to give the best results. However, it seems like only people in the US are testing it, and with TMobile (which is not 3G). I am currently in Egypt which does have a 3G provider, and would like to offer to test the universal-sim here for use on the 3G network. Would someone be willing to send me on that has been preprogrammed with the latest software so I can test it here?
