So, has anyone tried the i-Smartphone sim?
I've read a bunch of reports from people here in Sweden using it without any problems. Calls, sms and 3G all work perfectly.

Has anyone tried it here? What's the stance?

Unless you actively move in and out of your city, go under a tunnel where you get no signal for a long period of time, or lose signal for a long period of time; don't bother posting whether your commercial sim adapter works.

My i-Smartphone adapter worked flawlessly (GPS, incoming, outgoing, sms, etc) for 2 weeks straight in Minnesota, but since moving to Boston, where there are many more cell towers and places where you lose signal (under bridges, at my apartment). Once that happens you are more than likely to get the "no service" problem until you swap the sim in a different phone.

Case in point: unless you thoroughly test places where you get no signal for an extended amount of time or when you knowingly switch towers from city to city - don't bother reposting for the same sim adapters with "incoming calls - working for 5 days," etc- we know most of them work until the mentioned problems.

Cool please advice

Hi guys...sorry to take over topic...just one tiny advice i need...i bought this iphone when it was 1.1.2 with a chip inside that made it work with any carrier. However when the software unlock came out I put the chip aside and did a full software unlock.

Now i sold the 1.1.2 iPhone and bought a new 3G iphone...will this chip still work in it... here are snapshot of front and back of chip.

Please advice as to what kind of chip i have.

Thanks.

Due to the amount of posts of testing details, I'm proposing a unified template for posting testing results. Feel free to add/edit and I hope we can standardize on something to make the results more easy to summarize,.

About the SIM-
SIM hack brand/name:
Firmware Version(if applicable):
Is your carrier SIM card a USIM(3G) or SIM(2G)?

About the iPhone:
OS Version:
Modem Firmware:
Model Number:
Network Locked To(if applicable):

Testing Details:
Time you have been testing the SIM solution?
Did it work OTB(Out of the box)? If not, what procedures were required to make it work?
3G calls in/out?
2G calls in/out?
SMS send/recieve?
3G data (HSPA/HSDPA)?
2G data (EDGE/GPRS)?
AGPS?
Celltower handover successful? If yes, how about during high speed (on highway or subway)?
MTBF(Mean time between failure)? How long can it work between dying and requiring a "reviving" procedure? And what is the "reviving procedure?
In your opinion, is it stable?
Anything else you want to add?

We've tested that so far ranova, and it worked also for Universal-SIM.

I'm not saying it's the best solution, but it's the one working OK so far, from the ones I've tested and read.

visions,

It won't work, you'll need a new one.

NEW STANDARD: Thanks to all the investigating. Our benchmark, I propose, is to be set now at 2 WEEKS WORKING.

This is the point in which it starts to have more promise. Whoever exceeds 2 weeks CONTINUOUS USE, post here. Until then....

Good Luck all....! :hack:

Makes sense. I'm also concerned, which is why I wanted more info. It's been working for the Swedish guys on the forum for a week or so I understand, but of course I'm interested in the long-term.

I will be getting a phone and a card next week and I hope to be apart of your tests.
