I have not receive the mail from UnlockCellcular.
I'll check with USPS tomorrow. They might put into a wrong mailbox. They made mistakes all the time. I had to get mails from my neighbors, and they got their from me. Driving me crazy. Sometimes I just don't like USPS. Last edited by NewWayAround; 08-25-2008 at 12:55 AM. |

Hi Lost Soul,
did you made any further discoveries regarding Universal Sim? Are the incoming Calls and SMS not working just when 3G is activated, or even when your logged into a 2G network? Did deco already compare the log-files from Stealth- and Universal-Sim. Looking forward for testing... Do you know when you'll get the new samples? ![]() Unfortunally deco's 3G took some damage, I don't know if he will support us any more regarding Log-File analysis. |

Update after 5 days with StealthSim on T-mobile USA -
calls - incoming/outgoing - working sms - incoming/outgoing - working data - (Edge, because there is no 3G in US for T-mo) - working Last night I was at someone elses house (so different cell tower) and for one phonecall outgoing and incoming each for the same number, it didn't work. I don't know if I just didn't have service for that minute, but everything has worked except for that. So I'm assuming it was just the coverage. So far StealthSim has been flawless with T-mobile USA.

6 days summary
Generally: While I tested these chips, I found out that both solutions use the fake IMSI procedure to obtain signal on the iPhone: Universal Sim: Imsi=001012550013464 Stealth Sim SE: Imsi=001010000000000 One does it good, the next did it better. [Side note: The carrier menu (where you can search and choose the carrier) is gone on both chips.] I hope Universal Sim is updating there software (and fixes the problems occurred), that the customers will be happy. I’m also still in touch with SteathSim and hope to be able to help with the 3G problem appearing here. Let’s go into detail… StealthSim SE: It’s been a very good product so far and I’d directly recommend choosing this one, even if it uses the fake IMSI method which is, against there commercial illegal in most of the countries, it has always been reliable. I didn’t notice any problems like dropping calls, late (or not) arriving messages or even not being available for callers. While driving around it always connected to a cell tower without any “No Signal” messages or something. The only negative thing I can say so far is the missing of 3G, and with it GPS. Ok, it drains down the battery a lot but still it’s a feature I’d like to use sometimes. And also a small suggestion, slim down the chip as it’s really a bit “fat” sometimes. Luckily not fat enough to break my Simtray (the ground to 0,1mm and the chip to 0,7mm should be fine). Universal Sim: Ok, I really had a lot of hope into this one. But as the other *Sims it also uses a faked IMSI to log into the carriers network, which makes it illegal too in the most of the countries. Luckily (how epic) it also connected to the 3G network, but this was also its fail. If I had the 3G switch turned on, it needed some reboots until it even connected to my carrier. And once I was connected, I experienced some problems, like no incoming calls and messages. Also while driving around I noticed the “No signal” error and if it was connected again, I had no data connection (whether GPRS, EDGE or 3G). But all this only applied if the 3G switch was on. If I turned it off, and rebooted the phone, it connected fine. Also incoming and outgoing calls/messages seemed to work fine. I guess that all needed is a new software which handles the stuff better. Also a thing I didn’t understand is the Carrier menu being gone after the update to v500, while I was able to switch or search the carrier in v4xx (anyone?). I’m still continuing the tests of this Sims, I just felt like having this posted as I don’t think that there will be a lot changes if I don’t get a new software for the Universal Sim, or a new updated StealthSim. Also I still would prefer to stay in touch with the developers of both solutions, helping them getting their product out as great as possible.. So for further questions, go on and ask me.
